I just didn't want to blow the budget to buy a certain amount of groceries to qualify for a reasonably priced turkey. Your desserts sound great. I made a cheesecake and pumpkin pie and I had everything on hand for those too. So glad your grandma could join you and stay over. I'm sure you all had a great time.Thrifty Mom In Boisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10503584246610396717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6965390616423292590.post-8880710027651920872015-11-30T06:49:50.944-07:002015-11-30T06:49:50.944-07:00You did have a very thrifty week! I am going to browse your blog to see of you have the recipe on here. :)
I think it's sweet that your chickens got a nice Thanksgiving dinner too! :)
Our week was pretty thrifty- we didn't really go anywhere so that saved us money. We combined errands together to save gas in the cars and for Thanksgiving we decided to forgo the turkey dinner and use what we already had in the house. I made Italian Baked Ziti, Meatballs, Sausages, Homemade Garlic Bread (using some hamburger rolls that were getting hard in the fridge.) And I managed to whip up several desserts from what we already had in the house: Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Pie, Chocolate Mint Cookies, Sugar Cookies, Chocolate Cake and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. And I didn't have to buy one ingredient from the store for the whole day! We also had my grandmother for dinner and the kids were thrilled when she slept over Thursday night. They didn't want to return her to the nursing home on Friday. lol.Dawn- Blessed Beyond Measurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18380049127079259624noreply@blogger.com
