Budget Friendly Hot Cocoa Mix

Nothing brings on the urge to warm up with a cup of hot cocoa quite like a change in the weather.  This recipe is not only easy on the pocket but quick to make and absolutely delicious.  I like to put my mix into pint jars for easy use and storage.

Hot Cocoa Mix

4 cups non-fat dry milk powder
1 cup non-dairy creamer
1 ½ c granulated sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ tsp. salt

In a large mixing bowl place all ingredients.  Stir with a whisk until thoroughly combined.  Makes enough to fill 5 pint jars.  Store in a cool, dry place.

Stir 3 tablespoons of hot cocoa mix into one cup hot water.  Enjoy!

My kids love to add marshmallows to theirs.  I like to top mine with a dollop of whipped topping.  It makes a great gift too.

Take your pint jar of mix, tie with a ribbon, add a cute embellished label and a nice mug and you are all set.  You can also add a handful of mini marshmallows tied up in a baggie and a homemade chocolate dipped spoon sprinkled with crushed candy cane bits or chocolate chips.
