We
had the craziest busy week last week with very little time to do much of
anything other than be thrifty. Believe
me!
A
friend of mine brought me a stack of coupons from her Sunday paper she had
saved for me. She is awesome that way. I cut out several for items I have on my
September grocery list. Yaaay!
I
worked overtime all week so I will have some extra money on my next
paycheck. Hurray!
We
finished off our pantry challenge and bought we did no grocery shopping last week
in the process. Another Hurray!
I
did not need to buy gas or propane.
I
did some online bargain shopping which I am eager to tell you about in a
separate post next week. I am so
thrilled.
I
made a gelatin and canned fruit salad for our potluck lunch at work using
ingredients I already had in my pantry.
I
needed to replace our kitty box and found the best price online at Amazon for $19.98
plus free two day shipping so I bought it.
It is a nice vented covered one because no one wants to see that. J
Our
meals this week included Teriyaki Chicken & Rice on Sunday, Steak Sandwich
on Monday, Pork Verde & Rice on Tuesday.
We polished off the last of the verde in the freezer and the last of the
rice in the pantry, Grilled Chicken Sandwiches on Wednesday finished up the
chicken and some hoagie rolls in the freezer, a chili & cheese omelet on
Thursday used up some beanless chili in the freezer. I added a can of kidney beans to what was
left for our lunches. Friday we had
sandwiches and Saturday we were invited over to friends for dinner.
How
did you manage your thrifty week? Any great
buys?
Great job! Do you have the recipe for the teriyaki chicken on your blog? If not could you post it? I have grown so bored with meals lately and am always looking for inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI cheated and used a bottle of teriyaki marinade I bought on sale and with a coupon. It was actually pretty good.
