Vintage Style - Bread Dough Covers

I make nearly all of our bread and rolls along with pizza and breadsticks.  I always thought it might be nice to have a pretty cloth dedicated to covering my dough as it rises rather than tossing a dish towel over the top.  A towel works nicely but as often as I make bread I figured my dough deserves something a little more special.

I cut a piece of off white muslin to the size I wanted.  Just large enough to cover a loaf of French bread or a pair of loaf pans.

I love to embroider so it was an easy decision to add a design to the fabric, although I think they would be every bit as nice plain.  I chose vintage embroidery patterns.

When I was finished with the embroidery I pressed each cloth and turned the edges over to make a nice clean hem.  I used a decorative stitch and some vintage lace I had in my sewing stash to finish each one. 

I really love how they turned out.  Man!  We are getting downright fancy around here! J
