Christmas Prep 2017 - Only 5 Months To Go!

Outdoor projects and loads of company have kept me plenty busy, however I did manage to get a couple Christmas things done.  I did get a start on our annual letter because I know if I wait too long I'll likely forget most of what has happened in the past six months.  As it gets closer to Christmas I'll finish it up and then print it off to tuck inside the cards I'll be sending out.

Speaking of Christmas cards, I had hoped to get those made, but that didn't happen.  Maybe in the next month I'll tackle that one.

Isn't this cute?  Yeah, I didn't make it. Thanks Pinterest.

I did make two items to use as stocking stuffers for my girls.  I'll be sharing a tutorial on that particular item soon.  Until then you'll just have to wait to find out what it is.  I promise it will be thrifty, easy to make, useful and pretty cute too!

I have another project I'm hoping to get started on here soon.  I have all my supplies gathered up and ready to go.  The trick will be to work on this without my girls catching wind of what I am doing.  They are really good about giving me space and allowing me to work on holiday projects, but sometimes I forget and leave stuff out.  I don't want to blow any surprises and this one is definitely going to surprise them.

That pretty much covers it.  How about you?  Did you get anything done?  Buy or make any gifts?  Do any planning?  Still too early to even begin thinking about it?

  1. I didn't get accomplished what I had hoped but I did do some. My goal was two get a two stocking stuffers per girl and finish a homemade gift. I did get the stocking stuffers and I have a gift underway but didn't get it finished. I was in a panic Sunday night because I wasn't going to meet my "goal" and then I thought - you are insane! So I hope to finish it up this week. It is a rag quilt I am making for my dad. For next month I would like to have ordered a couple of gift cards for my girls with points I have on my credit card and finish up another gift. This next month will be super busy but I hope a small project will be doable. I will be waiting for your tutorial - I can't wait to see what you made. Love this blog!

    1. I'm so glad you love the blog. I'm excited to share the project. I'm glad you got a lot done and yes, cutting yourself some slack was a very good idea. No point in losing our minds, right?

  2. I've been slowly collecting things over the year and have been working on some homemade raspberry gin and homegrown dried herbs as future gifts.

  3. Love your comment under the stocking pic! LOL I have been thinking about doing some things, but haven't put anything into motion yet. It seems life is getting busier and busier these days!
