My Grocery Budget 2018 - February Update

I finished up my grocery shopping for the month of February and managed to slip in just under budget.  Then Albertson's had a pot roast sale and I almost passed it up, but I had already set aside the money for March's budget so I decided to just get a jumpstart for next month and picked up three nice roasts at $1.99 a pound!

I spent $19.44 of our monthly $25 non food budget on catfood, litter and window cleaner.  Nothing too terribly exciting there.  The remaining $5.56 will be added to last month's surplus and rolled forward to use in March.

Mid month haul from Fred Meyer

I found some really good meat buys and markdowns this month!

Not too shabby, if I do say so myself!  How did you do with your grocery shopping goals?  What great buys did you find?

  1. When I find really good sales, I go ahead and buy. Now, those roasts from your freezer will free up even more money for the next month/s.

  2. One of these days I will pay more attention to our food budget, but for now at least, I can say we save money by not eating much meat or drink alcohol. Those two can be budget busters unless you're savvy like you are about buying meat when it's marked down to the lowest price. You always do so well staying within budget every month!

    1. I have been really lucky with the meat prices lately. That is definitely the time to stock up. The thing I have to do to stay in budget is track every purchase and when I run out of $$ I stop. March is a long month so I may go over a bit next time. :/
