That's right! I bought a truck. A vintage and rather rusty one at that. But it came with a load of pumpkins in the back so how on
earth could I pass it up?! What do you
think?
How freaking cute is
this?! When my oldest and I entered JC
Penney to cut through and go to Bath & Body Works (I had coupons to use)
this was sitting there to greet me. I
have a real affection for old vintage trucks so this one grabbed me the moment
I saw it.
The fact that it was
on sale for 50% OFF wasn't helping matters as I could imagine exactly where I
was going to put it and all the possibilities for decorating it throughout the
year. Loads of ideas were swimming
through my head. And then the clerk came
over and she said she was thinking the same thing! I walked away. It was best.
We went to Bath
& Body Works and picked up our treasures and as we were heading out I told
my daughter I really wanted that
truck. It was originally priced at $70
and at half price was now $35. I don't
buy stuff like this and I certainly don't buy holiday decor at that price. I hit the dollar store and the clearance
shelves after the fact. But his was
soooooooo cute and it had my heart big time.
So we went back and
I got it. The clerk told me she knew I'd
be back for it. And she was right!
When she rang it up
she also asked me if I was going to use my store credit card so she could give
me an additional 20% OFF the sale price.
Okay! I had just paid that thing
off the day before (no interest) from taking my youngest underwear shopping last month so it was free
and clear.

I ended up paying
$28.00 for this truck and I still think that was a lot for what pretty much
amounts to a frivolous toy, but I've had not one ounce of buyer's remorse over
it and I absolutely love it. I'm excited
to take out the pumpkins after Thanksgiving and decorate it for Christmas. It looks so dang cute sitting there in my
living room. Yaaaaaaay! So dang cute!!!

My mom has an antique red metal toy truck that reminds me so much of yours. I've drooled after it for years -- but she said since my brother played with it as a kid, it's his.

You do so well with your everyday expenses, that you can afford a splurge once in a while. The truck really is sooo cute, and you can use it for all types of decorating. You're crafty, I think your new truck needs some personalized license plates!
