By the time Sunday rolled around this girl was ready for a day of rest. Other than driving with my daughter and
dropping the Poldark DVDs off at the
library I had nothing on my plate. Well,
not really. I did have one big project
to get done and I did, surprisingly. I
got my daughter's graduation
announcements laid out, set, proofed, printed and cut. Yes!!
I was running behind on that project so it is a HUGE relief to have
those done. And I used all stuff I already had on hand. Even better!
After making up the announcements
I got busy on the photo collage to go with them.
Monday I picked up the youngest at the library after her violin
lesson. She checked out a DVD and we
watched it after dinner that night. If
you haven't already seen A Dog's Purpose
I strongly recommend it. Very good movie.
Tuesday I picked up the youngest after she volunteered at the Idaho Food Bank with her NJHS group. They are my charity of choice, especially at
the holidays. Then home for a quick bite
and to get our chores done before heading out the door to my oldest daughter's
last band concert of her high school career (sigh). The concert was beautiful, best they've ever had.
Wednesday I stopped by Walgreens after work to pick up the prints
I ordered. That morning I uploaded the
photo collage once she gave me the okie dokie on those and go them
printed. I used a 50% OFF promo code offer they had running at that
moment to shave off a considerable chunk of change. Now all I need to do is get a book of stamps
and she is ready to get those all addressed and off into the mail. It will be so nice to have that task
completed and checked off of my list.
On Thursday I had to run my youngest to an orthodontist
appointment. We stopped at the feed on
the way home to pick up a bail of Timothy hay for Miss Daisy. My daughter used a gift card she was given at
Christmas to pay for that so no money out of pocket and she still has a little
bit left on it too.
This little girl is just way too sweet |
Friday and Saturday were much quieter, for me anyway. The oldest worked five days last week plus
school, a band concert and trying to squeeze in homework and studying. It was a bit rough, but she made it. She is shucking everything she can into her
savings account right now. Good girl!
I worked more overtime last week.
I sold two dozen eggs to a friend.
I rinsed out a shower gel bottle with just enough left in it to
make some foaming hand soap solution. I
refilled the dispenser in the downstairs bathroom. We now have a bottle of shampoo and one of conditioner
sitting upside down in the shower to get out every last drop we can. I'm in the process of finishing up the last
of a stick of deodorant. I may make it
another week with that, maybe two.
We used up quite a few items
I had pulled from the freezer to make our meals last week. All of our leftovers were eaten up and we
gave some extra produce we had to our chickens.
My oldest bought a take & bake pizza with her employee
discount at the place next door to where she works. For $6 she got a large pizza and a container
of chocolate chip cookie dough. She and
her sister prepared that for their supper on Saturday.
Some
of the 15 Minute Chores I accomplished
to keep my home in order:
Laundry Room & Half Bathroom -
vacuumed floors, washed mirrors. Daily
swish & swipe.
Dining Room - vacuumed floor, washed
window.
Kitchen -
vacuumed & spot mopped floor, cleaned microwave, washed window.
Bedrooms & Main Bathroom - vacuumed
& dusted, washed mirror & windows.
My oldest cleaned the bathroom.
Daily swish & swipe.
Other - three loads of laundry, dusted
& vacuumed living room, hallway & entry, mopped the entry way. Swept front porch.
How
was your thrifty week?
Do you have a favorite shower gel brand to use for the hand soap? Just curious because some gels are more watery than others.
ReplyDeleteI use the shower gel I get from Bath & Body Works. On sale and with a coupon, of course. :)
