I am always touched and amazed at how kind and wonderful people I
have never met in person can be when commenting to posts on my blog. It truly means the world to me when someone
cares enough to take the time to share an idea, an opinion, a well wish or an
experience. I try to make sure I reply to
each and every comment I receive.
My original intent when I began this blog was to share my
experiences and inspire others who may share similar interests. I love to write and be creative and blogging
has been the perfect outlet for me. I'm
so happy I decided to begin this blog clear back in October 2011. Like everything else, it is hard to believe
it was really that long ago.
I spend a great deal of time writing my posts, taking pictures,
coming up with ideas and ultimately sharing my life with you. It is my favorite hobby and I hope to
continue with my blogging for a long time to come. This blog is a place for positive and
inspiring communication and I think we've accomplished that rather well.
I've been very fortunate to be well treated by my readers. I know other fellow bloggers that have not
been so fortunate and it is heart breaking to hear them tell of their struggles
with nasty comments and trolls. I used
to have an open commenting format, but a few years ago was forced to turn on
comment moderation when the spammers got out of control, darn them!
A handful of times I've had a few not nice comments left for me,
sadly some of them were from my own family members if you can believe that, but
in the rare instance that it does happen I simply hit the delete button. There is no room here for that kind of
nonsense. We have become such a
community of good, kind and positive people here and that is exactly how it
should be. I'm not about to let a few bad
comments ruin that for us.
To all of you who visit my blog, read my posts and care about me
and my family I thank you from the very depths of my heart. Thank you to those who leave such wonderful
comments and keep me inspired to keep writing and posting.
I want you to know how MUCH I enjoy your blog! I read EVERY post and enjoy each one. I don't always comment but I am always here. I also frequent your archives because there is a lot of great content there. Thank you for your blog - it is a gift!
ReplyDeleteThank you Candace. XXX
DeleteI've been with you from the beginning, love your posts and you inspire me to create more.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Debbie. I love reading yours as well. :)
DeleteI've definitely had people comment negatively on my kids (their nationality), & I almost gave up blogging. Since I've turned on comment moderation, my philosophy is like yours. Other than bot spam (not personal, but just annoying) the majority of commenters are awesome. I delete anyone who says anything offensive.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that is terrible. You have to know some people are just broken.
DeleteI look forward to each day's post and miss the weekends when there is none. Love reading about the projects you do and reading about your thrifty lifestyle, and, of course, the accomplishments of your beautiful daughters. Keep up the good work. Thank you, Sharon D.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon. I appreciate this so much :)
DeleteThank YOU for your wonderful blog. The reality is that you inspire me/us so much, reading your blog has changed the way I look at life and my journey of frugality. You are an amazing Mom, your daughters are both beautiful & kind & your homemaking skills are exceptional. Every day I learn from you and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. ...Lilly
ReplyDeleteThis is what keeps me going. Thank you Lilly for telling me this.
DeleteYour blog is one of the first things I check every morning...that and our bank account balance! (Sob - it's sooo hard to not get anything new on the weekends. :)
ReplyDeleteBack twenty years or so, I thought I was the only one who checked the clearance section, and went to the thrift shop. You and others have been an encouragement and a comfort to me over the years; I'm grateful for you.
You are definitely not alone Cindy. Thank so much for following along on our journey.
DeleteYour blog is one the first ones I check. You are creative in so many ways and it is a joy to read about your life. I'm glad you want to continue. I know it takes a lot of work! I'm also glad you don't allow the bad comments. It IS nonsense! This is YOUR blog and you can do with it as you please!! It's too bad people forget this. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. I will! LOL
DeleteSometimes family members can be the worst. This is why while they have to be my friends on other social media sites, my blog is my own and none of them know about it.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Smart! ;)
DeleteThank you Jackie.
I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog. I am constantly impressed with your creativity, and how well you stick to your frugal budget. It's also fun that you are a fellow Idahoan. I love the Boise area.
ReplyDeleteBoise is a nice place to live. Thank you for following along!
DeleteI love your blog and get so much inspiration from you. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to hear this. Thank you!
DeleteI love your blog and read every post. I even went back to the beginning when I discovered you and read them all. I love the tips and recipes you share and your beautiful daughters. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
ReplyDeleteThank you Claudia for hanging out with us! :0)
DeleteI just wanted to say that I enjoy your blog so much. I am inspired by you and feel motivated to do better every time I read here ( Monday-Friday). I have really let my thrifty ways slip so much over the last couple years. My busy schedule, my husband's, 3 teenagers and 2 of them in college--- I feel as though we can't make money fast enough. So, I let alot of things slide that I shouldn't, and now we are in debt again for the first time in ten years. Ugghhh
ReplyDeleteI understand completely. The beauty is we can always start up again with our thrifty ways and make things better.
DeleteHi Sweetie,
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore your blog. I have learnt so much about thrift and living well within a budget by reading your daily columns and, as others have said, I really miss you on weekends.
I particularly appreciate the window you offer into your family life. I absolutely love reading about your adventures with your beautiful girls: You are the most lovely family.
It saddens me but doesn't entirely surprise me that you occasionally receive nasty comments: There are some horrible people who feel the need to put their stamp of malice on anything that others cherish and the Internet gives them a great vehicle for spreading their bile.
Anyway, I look forward to reading about your life for many years to come. You are fabulous!
Much love,
Heloise XOXO
You are a doll! Thank you so much Heloise. It is people like you that make me so glad I blog. And even happier that I meet such wonderful people like yourself. Take care my friend. :0)
DeleteI agree with everyone else. I check your blog most every day, and really like reading about your kids and all your projects. You are very inspirational! I also find you very honest and believable, which is what I think I most appreciate. So many bloggers seem to just make things up to look superior to everyone reading. So thank you for that!
ReplyDeleteI try to lay it out how it is. I'm glad to hear it comes across that way. Thank you for your support and encouragement. XXX
DeleteAlong with everyone who's commented, I enjoy reading your blog. It's good to read the gentle reminders of thrift and integrity, mixed in with creativity and fun. Just doing the right things for the right reasons. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDiane
That is so nice to hear Diane. Thank you so much!! :)
DeleteI really enjoy reading your blog. It is so empowering to see all the projects you and your girls have been able to accomplish. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteDiana
You are so welcome Diana. I appreciate that you follow along with us. :0)
DeleteI'm so glad to hear that! I have never understood why people would write hateful or nasty comments on someone's blog - if you don't like what you're reading, just move on! I imagine that miserable people feel better spreading their misery.
ReplyDeleteI agree, if you can say anything nice then keep your mouth shut! LOL I'm also a firm believer in Karma so I know they get their comeuppance eventually.
DeleteOh good grief! I have also had some nasty, cruel, critical commentators and it feels horrible. They can really slap you in the face. Here we are going out on a limb, reaching out to people to make friends, and grumpy, mean people hurt us. I delete the comments but it still stings. Don't get discouraged because you are appreciated and aren't alone.
