BIG Grocery Shopping

I decided to take a big chunk of cash and invest it into restocking my freezer and pantry with groceries.  We used up pretty much everything we had in the RV before our move back to the house.  Using my Pantry List I worked for quite awhile to perfect my shopping list.  I swear, that list it the best thing I think I ever came up with.

After checking the ads in the Sunday paper the girls and I gathered up all of our shopping bags and headed off bright and early Monday morning.  With it being Labor Day we were hopeful to get ahead of the crowds and get home before the rest of the world came to life.

This is what we got:

Quite a bit so far as you can see.  Even though this is more than what I would normally spend per month it is far less than what the average family spends.  Not only that, but quite a bit of this stuff will last us far longer than a month.

Throughout the remainder of this month I'll be purchasing fresh produce and dairy as well as stocking up on meat.  I will most likely take advantage of any great buys to further stock my pantry and freezer for the coming months as we head into winter.  Next month I plan to go back to my regular budget and I'll post my regular updates as well.

So what do you think?  So far so good?

  1. Oh my goodness- you did good! Many of the deals you got were better than I get around here at the grocery outlet. Nice job replenishing the house for what you spent! You can make dozens of meals from the items you bought! :)
