Goals For September

August was HOT and busy for us.  Nonetheless I did pretty darn good on the ol' "To Do" list, I think.  I didn't get it all done, but I did get a fair amount so I am pretty pleased.

This was easily the biggest project I completed

This is what I have planned for this month:

1.          Make or purchase a gift for someone
2.         Send a card or letter to someone
3.         Family Nite Out or Outing
4.         Be creative - sew or craft something
5.         Do some investment cooking
6.         Complete a small home improvement project
7.         Print mailing labels for Christmas cards
8.         Take my youngest on a Mommy/Daughter date
9.         Create a new menu plan for October
10.       Wrap the gifts I've done so far
11.        List something to sell on eBay, Etsy or Craigslist
12.        Enjoy a Family Movie Nite or Family Game Nite!
13.        Purchase or make a Christmas gift
14.       Complete a retirement house project
15.        Invite guests over for dessert, appetizers or dinner

I did manage to finish up one item I didn't quite complete last month.

8.         Wash and detail our truck  Got it washed last month but still needed to do the inside

Homemade granola in the pantry

A trip to the fair

I'd like to get some home improvement projects done around here now that the weather is cooling off.  Hopefully our schedule will cooperate as well.

  1. I would like to entertain.. just with a dessert & coffee. What time of day do you do that so it doesn't run into meal time? Like you, hopefully the weather will cool off or quit being so humid!

    1. We had dessert on a Sunday at 1:00 pm. Then last Friday we had people come over at 7:00 pm for cake and ice cream. Funny how people rarely turn down an invitation for dessert. :)

  2. this will probably sound dumb but I'm challenged in the cooking part.........what all do you have in your homemade chicken stock?

    1. Not dumb at all. It is really simple. I cook down the chicken bones with onion, carrots and celery and water. I don't add any other seasoning because I'm not always sure what I'll use it in.

  3. You have done great! I really like you list too for this month. Mine basically consists of trying to process all the good food that we are harvesting right now and spending time with family. :)
