Okay, so guess what
I got done in preparation of Christmas?
Absolutely nothing! This past
month was filled with so many activities, but preparing for Christmas wasn't
one of them. So in the next month I'll
have to try to get myself busy and pull double duty to make up for it.
I want to start our
annual letter because I know if I wait too long I'll likely forget most of what
has happened in the past six months.
Then as it gets closer I'll update it and get it ready to print off.
I'm using this for my girls this year |
I also think I'll
work on making my Christmas cards. I've
found the images and verse and already formatted it several months ago. I already have the cardstock and envelopes to
make them so why the heck not? I have
plenty of label stock too to make return address labels.
How about you? Did you get anything done? Buy or make any gifts? Do any planning?
Bath & Body works had a 75% off sale online and I used it and a coupon to purchase 4 sets of lotion/body wash. This will provide a gift for each of my girls and for two of their friends. I am also reading your archives and trying to come up with a list of things to buy/make. My goal for the next month is to pick up a couple of stocking stuffers per girl and make one gift. Hopefully not too hard?

You hit a great sale on the lotion and soaps. I'm a little jealous. ;)
DeleteMy Dollar Tree had a shipment of Thomas the Train blind bags. Both of my littles love Thomas, so I picked up 2 for each of them for stocking stuffers. I crocheted a couple of ear warmers and a hat as well. All stashed in my Christmas gifts box in the top of my closet.
ReplyDeleteGood job! I need to crochet something. I love to crochet.
DeleteI have been picking up stocking stuffers, and few things along the way. But really Christmas? I just can't do it. I also use that little poem for my kids makes it so easy.
ReplyDeleteI'll be here before we know it. I'm pretty much hit or miss the first half of the year. I'll get more serious about now.
Delete(Shamefaced grin) I've been reading a lot of Christmas-themed stories, because it's been so hot here...and they make me feel cooler.
ReplyDeleteWe are still in the process of moving to our trailer. How in the world can you still collect holiday bargains, and have nowhere to put them? I finally have compromised and started a Christmas box, that will go into storage. It's holding some stocking stuffers I picked up -- plus decorations and lights. But otherwise, not much.
I totally understand that. In your shoes right now it would be the furthest from my mind.
DeleteI found a fabulous bracelet that Mom will love on a super clearance table recently, so I snagged it. It was originally priced at 135 bucks and I bought it for 25. I have at least one Christmas item for every single person on my Christmas list right now and will add a few more each month.
ReplyDeleteGood for you Anne. You've put me to shame. That's for sure.
DeleteWhen you make gifts for your girls how do you keep the element of surprise in it? Or do you worry about it? Our house is a small ranch style so we live all over the house. I don't have a dedicated sewing space so I sew at one end of the dining room table. I keep my machine up all of the time except when we have company as my table is large enough for us to eat together on the other end. But my girls can see me and what I am working on as I am out in the open. Any advice? I need to make them a few things for Christmas this year.

I made a space in my bedroom for my "sewing room". I work on things in there a lot so the girls have no idea what I'm doing unless I show it to them. We also have a code when we need to work on something for each other. We declare CB or BB (Christmas business or birthday business). ;0)
DeleteI could do hand work in my room but there is no place for a sewing table. I like the code idea very much. I will have to use that. Thank you!

Sure thing Candace! :)
