Sunday
was a beautiful day. The weather was a
little cooler and I woke up feeling pretty good. I decided to take a drive and went to see my
oldest daughter before she had to go to work that afternoon. We went out for Sunday brunch and had eggs
benedict. It was so delicious and we had
a wonderful visit. Once I arrived home I
got the laundry done and my sheets changed on my bed before heading outside to
spend some quality time with Laverne. Then my youngest arrived home from work at
6:30 and after supper she and I went for a bike ride and visited our
neighborhood park. It had been a while
since I'd taken my little girl to the park for a swing and it was the perfect
end to one of the best weekends I've had so far this year.
We
had loads of cooler wet weather the majority of the last week which was
welcomed very much. It was getting a bit
on the dry side around here. Now the
weeds are growing again. The week seemed
to pretty much speed right on by uneventfully.
By the time Friday arrived and I got off of work at 2:00 in the
afternoon I was exhausted. The youngest
and I settled in for a movie and popcorn night and called it good.
After
a good night's sleep (I was in bed by 9:00 after dozing off through most of the
movie) I was up at 6:00, did a quick walk through the house to tidy up and put
away a few things that had been left out and then fixed myself a cup of hot
coffee. Then it was time to settle in
for some writing and put up a gob of posts on the blog before I headed into my
craft room. I spent the better part of
morning and part of the afternoon sorting, decluttering, and re-organizing more
sewing supplies, my jewelry making supplies as well as going through my craft
supplies again. Then I headed out to
spend some time in Laverne with my retirement planner and did some
thinking. All in all it was a very good
day.
THINGS
WE ATE LAST WEEK: Club sandwiches (keto),
taco salads, hamburgers (keto), pesto shrimp (keto) & asparagus, BLT sandwich (keto). We had some great meals! The shrimp and asparagus was so good.
THINGS I CLEANED IN 15 MINUTES OR LESS:
Laundry Room & Half Bathroom - Scrubbed sink, vacuumed floors. Daily swish & swipe.
Kitchen & Dining Room - Vacuumed floors. Daily swish & swipe.
Bedrooms & Main Bathroom - Vacuumed & dusted, mopped bathroom floor. Daily swish & swipe.
Other
- three large loads of laundry. Vacuumed
& dusted, guest room, living room, hallway & both entryways. Swept front porch.
THINGS
I DID TO SAVE A SMALL BUNDLE OF $$: I
washed out a couple gallon size Ziploc bags to reuse. We didn't need much in the way of groceries
so I skipped the trip and didn’t do any grocery shopping.
THINGS
I DID TO EARN EXTRA $$: I sold a vintage
cookbook from my Etsy store and a
set of DVDs on eBay. I worked some more
hours again this week as I build myself back up to full time.
How was your thrifty
week?
I enjoy reading about your thrifty moves. Your crafting area is really cute. I’m trying to reorganize and downsize my sewing room this week.it’s not pretty!!!
