I honestly cannot
remember the last time I had a full weekend off with nothing scheduled. Nothing we needed to do and no place we
needed to be. It felt almost weird. But I quickly got used to it!
I was up long before
the girls were, just me and my old man kitty.
I fixed myself a hot cup of coffee, lit a candle and the oil lamp, and
we watched it rain. It rained pretty
much all day squashing any ideas for me to get outside and work in the yard. So instead I watched YouTube videos.
I watched a lot of
YouTube videos for inspiration. I've
been in need of some inspiration lately.
I needed some cooking inspiration, crafting inspiration, home
improvement inspiration, gardening inspiration, but mostly I watched travel and
RV videos. Which got me really excited
about my not too distant future plans.
As you can well imagine.
I made a very yummy
keto pancake breakfast for us, or rather brunch. Okay it was lunch.
I was also inspired
to bake some delicious cinnamon "sugar" keto cookies. They are really good so I'll be sharing that
recipe very soon. I also made a really
good keto dinner that I'll also be sharing with you as well. It was good.
And I did do some meal prepping for the girls. I used up a bunch of odds and ends of
leftovers from meals we had prepared during the week.
Later, after dinner,
I turned on Netflix and watched a movie.
Then I called it a day. Did I get
much done? Other than fertilizing and
watering my houseplants that would be a NO.
But I did get rested up and I
got inspired to get off my butt and get some things done around here. Just not right away. Hee, hee.
Sunday I was much
more productive. I got busy right away
and did some serious meal prepping for the week which took me about two hours
start to finish, including cleanup. When
I was done I had an entire week's worth of lunches and dinners made up for all
three of us. I'll share more about that
later in the week.
After Sunday chores,
trimming my bangs, Sunday dinner and washing dishes again that pretty much
wrapped up my weekend. A hot shower and warm pajamas and I was ready for bed and ready to start my work week.
Everyone needs a totally unproductive day to recharge the batteries and restock the idea pool. Glad you took the time for yourself!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne. I am too! :0)
DeletePancake breakfast/brunch/lunch ... heehee, love it.
ReplyDeleteOnly two hours prep work to have a week's worth of meals? I'm anxious to read that post!
I'm envious of the rain you got. Yesterday and today in SoCal it's in the 90's, too warm for me.
D.
We need the rain and I'm glad we got it. I'll try to send a little your way. ;)
DeleteOccasionally, we all need a day to do nothing as it energizes us to do something the next day/week.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. :)
DeleteSometimes we all need that time to recharge...and a rainy weekend is the perfect opportunity! Now you're ready for when the sun is shining!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHa! Exactly! :0)
