Oh my gosh it is December! Cannot believe it! Well at least I got the blog decorated for Christmas, ha, ha. Last month I totally
ripped you all off with no budget post for October, but I'm back with a
November update and I think I did pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.
My first big grocery haul from Albertson's I really blew the bank on this one! |
The first two weeks of November I didn't do any grocery shopping, but then I got my rear in gear. I totally felt like
I was in hunter/gatherer mode this month as I looked through the ads and hit up
the various stores buying up loss leaders and sales items. It was great! I shopped at Albertson's, Fred Meyer, Trader Joes and Winco. Even though it felt like I was doing a
lot of shopping, and essentially I was, I didn't spend a whole heck of a
lot!
Trader Joe's for a few produce items |
More shopping at Winco - I was out of control at this point. |
Our nonfood items
were comprised of fabric softener, cat food, litter, shampoo, conditioner and
facial tissue. I stocked up on two 16
pound bags of dry cat food which shot me over budget. Total spent came in at $35.47.
My big Dollar Tree haul - somebody stop me! |
I was able pick up
quite a few items for holiday baking and our annual Horse Doover Nite. I stocked up on cheese and canned vegetables,
not to mention butter. Gotta love
butter! Shopping at Dollar Tree let me
get all kinds of fun things for a mere pittance. And of course, lots of fresh fruits and
veggies.
Loss leader shopping at Albertson's - I have not shame... |

Another trip to Winco |
Check out that total! Not shabby at all. How did you do last
month? Any great bargains?
This budget month runs from November 1 through November 30
First of all, your blog does look very nice and festive! :) I think you did really well this month and got some great deals. I noticed the pesto from the Dollar Tree in your haul from there. I picked up 2 or 3 bottles of that myself. I'm thinking they would be good on chicken, tortellini or even a veggie and pasta salad over the holidays. :) Be blessed!
ReplyDeleteI think you are absolutely right about the pesto - Yum! So many possibilities. Have a fabulous weekend!
DeleteGee...you got by for a whole month on just one gallon of milk? With the two of us, we usually go through a gallon a week. It's a good source of calcium for your growing girlies...I do the same thing as you, by the way, stretching whole milk by adding up to 4 cups of water. But we STILL go through about a gallon weekly.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many sources of calcium other than milk. I'm always amazed at what has calcium in it. We actually drink more almond milk that cow. I'd stocked up on that a few months ago so we had plenty.
