Sunday we were
midway through a three day weekend that was going by way too fast. Nonetheless we were determined to get outside
and enjoy ourselves on a gorgeous spring day.
It had been raining so we wanted to take advantage of the reprieve so we
packed a picnic lunch and headed out to the park and to take a nice long
walk. Check out this Thursday's post to
see where we went and what we saw.
Needless to say we had a great time!
When we got home I
worked some more on my photo project and did some writing.

Monday was Memorial
Day and I had the day off from work. I
decided to do some meal prepping that morning before heading outside to work on
the garden and yard. It had rained
really hard Sunday night so everything was pretty wet. Soaked and muddy so that put my outdoor plans
on hold, once again. Instead I worked on
the photo project some more and did some writing.
How stinking cute are these?! |
Tuesday I was armed
with a coupon and took my car in for its semi-annual service appointment. Now we are good to go for another six
months. On the way home I stopped in at
Walmart and picked up a couple more mini binders, tab divider sets and mini
size sheet protectors (another project) and a couple quarts of cream.
Wednesday was a
quiet evening spent at home with no place to go and no where we had to be. The chickens got some extra love and
attention and we spent our evening visiting with each other like we hadn't in
quite a while. It was a great
evening. Love time with my girls.
I'm sure you can guess what I'm fixing to do here 😉 |
Friday I took the
day off and was able to complete another project on the list while the girls
completed their last day of school (more details to come). When they got home we had lunch and then the
oldest and I ran errands. She needed to
make a deposit into her savings account at our credit union and also needed to
close a savings account she had started at her elementary school when she was
in first grade so we got that done too.
Next it was off to pick up a bus pass because that girl has a paid
summer internship! Hurray!
Saturday morning the
oldest and I got some grocery shopping done and made a stop at the pharmacy on
the way home. Once the groceries were
put away I took the girls out to lunch and we wrapped up the last of the
errands we needed to get done.
We got enough good
rain, once again, throughout the week that I didn't need to turn on the
sprinklers and water the lawn.
Everything is lush and green. So
lovely.
These girls literally own my heart. |
We gave our kitchen
scraps to the chickens and also picked them lots of milk weeds and dandelion
greens to eat. We composted egg shells,
coffee grounds, onion skins and dryer lint.
We set out a full
recycle bin and a nearly empty trash can at the curb last week for pick up. We try to be as mindful as possible of our
consumption and impact on the landfill.
How was your thrifty
week?
Paid summer internship and she's still only in high school? Awesomeness, she's way ahead of the game.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I see you have/had another kitchen project? Can't wait to see what you did :)
D.
Can I tell you I am so proud of that kid for all of her accomplishments? Holy cow!
DeleteCheck back on Friday to see what I did! ;)
Your girls are indeed beautiful inside and out! Congrats on the paid internship for your oldest. That is great. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie. They are the best part of my world!
