A Trip To Wal-Mart & The Thrift Store

The first Saturday of this month my youngest had a cheer camp to attend for four hours.  I figured it would be the perfect time for me to get some errands run before I needed to pick her up so I mapped out a plan and dropped her off.

My first stop was Wal-Mart to pick up kitty food and then Goodwill which is located right across the street.  While at Wal-Mart I happened across a couple of clearance racks which blew my mind.  I was able to find two pair of Levis jeans and two Avia knit tops for only $1 each!  They actually had my size in the Levis and a size to fit my youngest too.  Rarely am I ever that lucky.  I also found two really nice backpacks for my youngest to have for high school for only $1.  Regular price on those was $24.88!  I was so excited!

My goal for Goodwill was affordable workout wear.  I had priced leggings when we were at the mall last month and about choked.  They are really expensive.  I found some I'd be willing to wear at JC Penney for $28 and some cheap ones for $18 that I really didn't want to wear.  Needless to say I didn't buy any leggings at the mall.

But at Goodwill I found some nice ones, name brands too.  I picked up three pair of leggings for myself and a pair each for the girls for around $2 each and a workout top for my youngest to replace the one she tossed last month.  I also found a top to replace the one I got paint on last summer for $1.99 as well as a Reebok jacket, brand new for $5.99.  I looked at tops and sweaters for work and found a cute one to add to my wardrobe.  I got rid of three work tops last month and only planned to replace one of them.  Done!  $2!

I found a nice little cut glass tray to put in my kitchen.  I wanted something to set my soap dispensers on and this one is just perfect.  It was only $1.99.

I still cannot believe I found brand new Levis jeans for only $1!

I am really happy with the items I found and the decision to go ahead and purchase these things.  Nothing I purchased that day, with the exception of the kitty food, was a need, purely a want, however these things will enhance our lives.  Making things better and improving our lives is important.  Doing so while spending less, reusing items whenever possible and saving my $$ makes me even happier.
