I had another pretty great month grocery wise. One again I kept to mostly sales items,
stocked up on a few things and kept us well supplied with fresh produce. I shopped at Trader Joes, Albertson's and
Fred Meyer. I checked ads, downloaded a
lot of digital coupons to my Albertson's and Fred Meyer rewards cards and even
printed off a few from Coupons.com. Two
of those digital coupons was for Albertson's and gave me $5 OFF $25 purchase. I have
another one to use too! How about that?

I got quite a few
items on markdown and was fortunate enough to get a lot of my produce this way as
well as to stock up the freezer with bread for sandwiches, hamburger and hot
dog buns.
This month I fired
off an Amazon Pantry order to stock up on household cleaners and some toiletry
items. Additionly, I bought a 20 pound
bag of cat litter and stocked up on toilet paper on sale for 2.99 for twelve
double rolls. Talk about a loss leader! Total spent $26.55, over by $1.55 but I more
than made up for it in the grocery department.

DeleteGood job. We had a Winco move in here and it has forced Albertsons to really sharpen their pencils. Still only buy loss leaders at Albertsons.
ReplyDeleteMe too, just the markdowns and loss leaders from them. Their produce is really high so I rarely buy it unless it happens to be a loss leader too. Enjoy Winco! Love their bulk department, especially for spices.

ReplyDelete6-packs of mini candy bars (Baby Ruth and Butterfinger) -- except these have 8 bars, instead of 6. Normally $1.99, but priced half-off in the Safeway clearance bin. When I paid for them, another 49 cents came off -- leaving a total of 51 cents per package!
So that made it 6 1/2 cents per bar. (These are perfect for traveling, camping and hunting.)
Yes, I went back and purchased a LOT more.
