I truly
appreciate thrift stores. Over the last
several years I have both purchased and donated more items than I could ever
begin to count. I try to donate and shop
at a variety of thrift stores that assist various causes. One of my favorites is a shop dedicated to
healthcare and finding homes for stray cats and dogs.
There
are a multitude of reasons to shop at a thrift store.
·
Saving
money purchasing used over new.
Although, I have purchased an awful lot of brand new items from thrift
stores, especially clothing.
·
Thrift
stores provide training, employment and aid to a lot of important community
causes.
·
Shopping
at a thrift store is an excellent way to recycle and keep usable items out of
landfills.
·
I
prefer it to yard sales for the simple fact that I save gas since I'm not
driving all over the place.
·
You
never know just what you might find. It
always changes on a regular basis.
·
It's
fun! We like to call it "Treasure
Hunting".
Do you
shop at thrift stores? What great things
have you found?
I usually check Goodwill first before buying any new clothes for the kids. Sometimes they don't have anything, but I have found some really good stuff, too.
ReplyDeleteI like Goodwill the best for clothes. I love how they organize them making it easy to shop and find what you're looking for.
DeleteI find great clothes for my son at thrift stores. Love shopping at them!
ReplyDeleteSaves a bundle! :)
DeleteI enjoy shopping at thrift stores and normally shop at the Goodwill and a local thrift store that supports our animal shelter.
ReplyDeleteI buy a lot of our clothing, books, décor, kitchen items, shoes, etc. at thrift stores. I can find items that are new or in like new condition for such great prices.
I just got my daughter a Gymboree outfit from the Goodwill the other day for $1.99. I would have paid over $50 new for this outfit! Hope you have a great day~
I used to dress my girls in Gymboree and I loved how nice they wore and held up. I would go online and get their clearance stuff but the rest came from thrift stores. All my books come from thrift stores. Kitchen stuff if fun to hunt for I think.
DeleteI do shop in thrift stores, but not often to be honest. There are NONE in my area as we live in a nicer, higher end area of the city, so they're quite far from us. But when I can get there, I love to! :) I found my daughter a pair of Kamik winter boots last year ($60 boots) very gently used for $6.00!! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat buy on the boots! I got my daughter a pair of Sorrels last year for $6.
DeleteThis blog is AWESOME. So much to learn from you and fun too. Keep on doing what you are doing. So many people are following you and that is great. You have helped several of my friends in their budgeting. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wonderful compliments. So nice of you to say. Take care an enjoy your day!
