A New Camera

While working on the chicken coop a couple weeks ago I dropped my camera and killed it.  It had been on the fritz since the last time I dropped it so I knew it was on its way out, but I was seriously procrastinating on a replacement.  They cost money.

I finished up my weekend projects using my Kindle to take pictures and I hated it.  It was cumbersome and I've never really warmed up to using it as a camera for as long as I've had it.  However, I was glad I had it and it would have been especially helpful on our vacation had my camera died then.  So I sat my fanny down and logged onto Amazon to bite the bullet and order a camera.

Since I'm a dropper I decided to try a refurbished camera this time.  I chose an upgraded and much newer version of my Sony with twice the zoom and a lot more megapixels.  The nice thing about doing that is I was able to cannibalize my dead camera before I tossed it out.

My SD card is plenty large enough to use in the new camera.  The battery is the same so I now have a spare and an extra charger too.  I really love having an extra battery charged and ready to go.  I also took the strap off in case I need to replace the one on the new camera or in case any of us should need to.

You know what the really nice part of this new camera was?  The price.  It was half the price of a brand new one and it comes with the same warranty as new one too.  Because of that I went ahead and ordered a camera case and a mini collapsible tripod to go with it.  Plus!  No learning curve.  This camera pretty much operates the same as my old one.  I'm so happy!

    1. Me neither. Especially when they offer you the same warranty as a new one.

  3. What a smart move! I need to replace mine too. I dropped it and now that zoom is on a huge delay. LOL It takes forever to take a photo. I've never bought anything refurbished, but I may just check into that!

    1. I've bought several items refurbished, which often means it is just a customer return, and I've been really happy with them.

  4. Good deal on the camera. Wanted to let you know I made your muffins again today. Again I used applesauce and instead of chocolate chips I put in a tsp. of cinnamon and 1/2 cup raisins. They were delicious!
