The
Sunday paper had some Albertson’s coupon doublers in it so I was back in
business. That afternoon I braved
Walmart. I really did some coupon stacking this time by taking a
Fred Meyer coupon which made a price match and adding a manufacturer coupon
plus an Albertson’s coupon doubler. This
is what I ended up getting:
·
2
four pound bags sugar $2.65, Fred Meyer coupon 2/$5, less $2.00 in coupons =
$1.50 each
·
Two
cake mixes, $1.25 each, Fred Meyer coupon 99¢each, less $1.00 coupon = 49¢ each
·
Nestle
chocolate chips, 2.28 each, Fred Meyer coupon $1.88 = $1.88 each
·
3
cans Dole pineapple chunks, .98¢ each, less $2.00 in coupons = 31¢ each
·
2
large cans chicken breast, $2.28 each, less $2.00 in coupons = $1.28 each
·
2
two pound packages brown sugar, Fred Meyer coupon 2/$3 = $1.50 each
·
Soy
sauce, $1.74, less 75¢ = final price 99¢
I
used my Walmart gift card to pay for these items which resulted in no money out
of pocket. I will add these purchases to
this month’s tally. I also used my
Walmart gift card plus an additional $2.30 to purchase oyster shells for the
chickens and a grow light so I can start growing salad greens indoors this
winter.
While
watching a friend of mine put her groceries away I noticed she had a half full bag
of spinach from Costco she was about to toss out. I asked and she gave it to me for my chickens. It was actually pretty good and with a few
yucky leaves removed we have been giving it to the ladies every morning. They love it.
I
made three pair of pajamas to give as Christmas gifts. The fabric was given to me by my friend that
was cleaning out her sewing room this summer and my Mom gave me the pattern and
the thread.
I
wrapped all of my gifts using recycled wrap, bags and tissues or stuff I
already had on hand. Tempting as it is,
I have not purchased any gift wrapping items at all this year and there are
some cute papers out there.
I
saved the pineapple juice from a can of pineapple chunks and froze it to make
sweet and sour sauce in the future.
I
received a free sample of coffee in the mail from Café Bustelo and I signed up
to receive another sample of a brand I’ve never heard of.
I
purchased two designer tops and a designer sweater for myself off eBay. The total cost was less than purchasing a new
sweater at ShopKo.
I
made 7 hand stitched felt Christmas ornaments using scraps leftover from
previous projects. Three of the
ornaments will be given as part of a gift basket. The other 4 went on our tree.
I
used up every last bit of lotion in another bottle before tossing it into the
recycle bin and I did the same with a bottle of dish soap.
Our
chickens blessed us with 4 eggs this week.
You are very inspiring! :) You did so wonderful with your shopping! Well done!!
