Menu Plan - September

I made my menu plan for the month of September.  Because I had nothing in the pantry and freezer to base my plan from after clearing everything out this month I decided to go with things we hadn't had for awhile as well as some of our favorites.

This is what I came up with:
  • Beef Tacos
  • Spicy Romano Chicken
  • Cobb Salad
  • Roast Chicken (from the deli)
  • Vegetarian Quiche
  • Pot Roast & Vegetables
  • Tomato Basil Soup & Bell Pepper Quesadillas
  • Pasta Bolognese
  • Veggie Stir Fry & Rice
  • Chicken Noodle Soup
  • Pesto Pizza
  • Chicken Enchiladas
  • Meat Loaf
  • Chinese Chicken & Cabbage
  • Creamed Tuna & Biscuits
  • Breakfast Hash
  • Burgers & Fries
  • Beef Barley Soup
  • Swedish Meatballs
  • Enchilada Stack
  • Wiener Wraps & Tater Tots
  • Eggs Benedict
  • Pork Fried Rice
  • Italian Black Bean Soup
  • Chicken Broccoli w/ Rice
  • Mushroom Pasta Alfredo
  • Beef & Bean Burritos

I am planning to make big batches of the soups as well as extra burritos so I can freeze some.  The roasted chicken carcass will be simmered with celery, onion and carrot to make broth.  When I make pizza I also plan to make extra dough to freeze.

Hopefully I will have the time to get back to baking bread again.  I really enjoy doing it and you just can't beat the taste of fresh bread right out of the oven.

It all sounds pretty delicious to me.  What great things are on your menu for the month of September?  I'm always looking for new ideas so please share.

  1. Whenever we spend an extended period of time eating out of our pantry and freezer I always feel like I have to start all over again with getting ingredients at the store. I have mixed feelings about bare cupboards and an empty fridge- I like doing having to get all new stuff, but at the same time I don't like having to do it- lol. Know what I mean?! :)
Your menu sounds yummmmyy!! I haven't sat down and planned out my September meals or grocery list yet. This week though I have been doing a lot of cooking in my kitchen- my oven is getting quite a workout! Most of the meals I have been making are based on what produce I have in the house that needs to get used up. I made Corned Beef, Cabbage and Potatoes. I made BLT's and Chicken Salad (saved the broth when I boiled the chicken- this will become soup in the next few days.) I also made Eggplant Parmesan. I made Chicken Enchiladas. I had several cucumbers that my neighbor had given us so I made Cucumber Bread (I used a Zucchini Bread recipe and replaced it with Cucumbers instead- came out AWESOME and really moist!)
I have a bunch of tomatoes that I need to use up so I am going to try a 'Taste of Home' recipe that I found for Tomato Dill Bread. It looks good and it says tat it is great for making sandwiches. I also froze a lot of plum tomatoes to use in soups during the winter.

    2. Okay, I'm coming over to your house for dinner. Your stuff sounds so good. I'm anxious to make chicken broth too. I love soups. I'm going to be giving my kitchen a workout next month too. I can hardly wait. Thanks for the birthday wishes!
