What's On The Menu? - Meal Plan #8

 


When cleaning out and reorganizing our freezers last month I pulled quite a few items forward to use up before they hit the point of no return.  Rotating our food supply works wonders in curbing waste, especially freezer burn when it comes to frozen foods.  Our menu plan for last month and this month overlapped a bit as a result which is completely fine.  Flexibility with meal plans is also very important to good success.

 


This is what is planned for our September meal plan and even though we've already prepared some of these meals I do have last month's meals I haven't prepared yet to fall back on.

 


Pork Chops with Rice & Onion Gravy

Chicken Curry

Pepperoni Pizza

Turkey Sandwiches

Crack Pot Chicken

Steak

Beef Stew

Turkey Burgers

Asian Beef Noodle Soup

Meat Loaf & Scalloped Potatoes

Chicken & Vegetable Stir Fry

Egg Roll In A Bowl

 


I have the usual suspects listed for snack and breakfast ideas.  French toast, waffles, eggs & bacon or sausages, oatmeal, cereal, granola, muffins are pretty typical fare.  I make a lot of keto versions of some of these items for myself.  I also have a couple ideas for some desserts.

 


What have you got planned for meals in the coming month?  Do you find your meal planning changes as you head into fall?  What are your favorite fall meals?

  1. We are in the thick of CSA deliveries from Peaceful Belly. In order to use up what we get each week:

    Greek Salad (cucumbers, tomatoes, basil, feta, EVOO, Balsamic Vinegar)

    Roasted zucchini, eggplant, peppers along with grilled chicken or salmon or pork loin steak from the stocked freezer. We'll do this 3 times/week right now.

    Cheese Quesadilla and Mac salad.

    Pesto Pasta with roasted veg (garden zucchini, eggplant, peppers) Lots of pesto in the freezer from CSA.

    After these, we'll put together meals from what is still visible in the fridge/freezer. We could easily go a month with no purchases so I rarely worry about meals. We're "mood eaters" more than "plan eaters" ;-)

  2. Thank you for linking to the crack pot chicken recipe! Ran across the recipe online but never bookmarked it. I don't have a slow cooker or crockpot, but hoping low and slow stovetop cooking on my old revere ware dutch oven will work out! Totally agree with you on the need for flexibility--some mighty tasty dishes come from unexpected combinations of food needed to be used up!
