Here is another post from January 2015 and my Keep It Simple Series (KIS) that I very much want to share again. This is a way of life I very much ascribe to. Click here to read this post from the past. I hope you find it inspiring.
Take care my friends!
I have told my husband I am dedicating myself to decluttering and getting rid of 40% of our "stuff" - we live in a huge home - 3700 SF - I am 75 and there are only the two of us - it is ridiculous and after the 40% is gone I am going for another 20-30% - I think my husband is hyperventilating somewhere - he truly is a packrat - but he doesn't clean and I am getting too old for this - I am looking for people to donate rooms of furniture to - so many needy people - I took my 10th load to St. Vincents this morning and have already started new boxes for next week. I have been a slave to this house for years and I am done - it really feels good to do this - Next I will start looking for a nice 2 Bedroom condo in which to enjoy the rest of my life - I love my home BUT enough is enough - time to move on - should have done this 15 years ago...
ReplyDeleteIt is a huge endeavor to declutter a big home, but it sounds like you are making great progress. That good feeling you get every time you drop off a load will help keep you going. Good luck and keep me posted on your progress!
