This is
another hit at our house. I made it for
breakfast on Tuesday and the girls and I loved it.
Applesauce Bread
1½ c. flour
¾ c. sugar
1½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. applesauce
1 egg
¼ c. oil
¼ c. milk, sour milk, buttermilk or apple
juice
Combine flour, sugar and baking powder in
medium mixing bowl. Make a well and add
remaining ingredients. Stir to
combine. Pour into lightly greased loaf
pan. Bake at 350° for 55 minutes until
toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool
about 15 minutes and remove from pan to cooling rack.
I
served it warm with a little butter on it along with homemade yogurt and
fruit. It made a delicious breakfast and
a fantastic snack later that day. Not
too sweet either. I’ll be making this
one often.
