30 Things In 30 Days - August

I made myself another list of things to do.  I was super inspired after how well I did on last month's list.  But if I don't complete everything on this list I have to remember that it is okay.

This is what I have planned for this month:

1.          Count my blessings
2.         Make tortillas
3.         Send a letter or card to someone
4.         Family Game Nite!
5.         Invite guests over for a visit or dinner
6.         Make a gift
7.         Sew or craft something
8.         Make a monthly meal plan for September  I was on a roll when I made the one for August so I just kept going.
9.         Go to the $$ Store
10.       Try a new recipe
11.        Read a book or write
12.       Family Movie Nite!
13.       Make salsa
14.       Make pickles
15.       Investment cooking
16.       Repurpose/recycle something
17.       Work on our garden
18.       Make or buy and wrap two Christmas gifts
19.       Family outing
20.      Bake something and share it
21.       Install light fixture in chicken coop
22.      Wash outside windows
23.      Complete a $5 home improvement project
24.      Update upstairs bathroom mirror
25.      Pull/spray weeds
26.      Family Nite Out!
27.      List something to sell on eBay, Etsy or Craigslist
28.      Work on new inventory for Etsy store
29.      Sew throw pillow for my bed
30.      Take some time for myself

New mini blind in laundry room

I got really busy and hit the ol' "To Do" lists pretty hard this month.  Not only this one but another one that is more like a not so fun chore list.  This how I did last month:

1.          Count my blessings  Big time this month!
2.         Bake bread
3.         Send a letter or card to someone
4.         Family Game Nite!  Dominoes!
5.         Invite guests over for a visit or dinner
6.         Make a gift
7.         Sew or craft something
8.         Make a monthly meal plan for August
9.         Go to the $$ Store  I needed sandwich and quart bags and two birthday cards
10.       Try a new recipe
11.        Read a book or write  I did both!
12.        Family Movie Nite!
13.        Reorganize storagee space in the garage
14.        Family outing
15.        Investment cooking  Pancake syrup
16.       Repurpose/recycle something
17.        Work on our garden
18.       Make and wrap two Christmas gifts
19.       Paint our front door  I think I'll not plan this project anymore.  Every time I do, it rains. Now I'm thinking of doing something else altogether. J
20.       Bake something and share it
21.        Winterize our back door
22.       Wash inside windows
23.       Wash all the mirrors
24.       Clean ceiling fan
25.       Pull weeds
26.       Family Nite Out!
27.       List something to sell on eBay, Etsy or Craigslist
28.       Work on new inventory for Etsy store  8 hanging dish towels completed!
29.       Do some Christmas shopping
30.       Take some time for myself  Uh, yeah, that didn't happen.  But, to me, a day dedicated to sewing projects is retty awesome and I had two of those last month.

I went back through some older lists and picked a few items I hadn’t completed and got busy.  This is what I was able to get done as well:

1.          Make my daughter's bedroom curtains  Yay!  Finally!
2.         Install mini blinds in kitchen and laundry room windows  Yay!  Finally!
3.         Thoroughly spring clean both bathrooms  Glad that chore is done!
4.         Open my Etsy store  Yay!  Finally!

  1. That is an impressive list you have there. I need to be more like you and make a list. I get more done if I do. I probably won't get too much done the next week or so because I will have a house full of men. I'm just hoping to have some me time while they are here. (I don't have any daughters just boys and they along with my brother-in-law will be here.) Have a great week.

  2. I am a bit back on the calendar but I can feel the pain of July expenses. Not a dime in savings, all of it went out the door. Sigh. Back to squeezing.
